Atheists know what they believe. Christians don't really know, and can't agree. There are about a billion different interpretations of the Bible, and they have to pick and choose what to believe, because it so often contradicts itself. (I'm not saying that to insult Christians--I used to be one and respect the religion--I'm just pointing out that the Bible is very contradictory, and it makes it a very confusing thing to follow.)

You need to invoke your interpretation skills because the Bible can be twisted and usurped to the individual's liking, therefore all but negating their meaning and/or their relevance.
Christians, as a group, cannot fully agree on the teachings of the Bible. Atheists, as a group, are largely in agreement on its words.

Depends on the question. Atheists really stick together on some things like science and why we are atheists and how we decide morality.
Ask us a purely opinion based question and it will be all over the place. I bet the Christians are much closer to each other there.

even those of us that are atheist can have different points of view... but the one thing i have noticed about Christians is that they think that no one could be correct in their points of view other than THEM. AND i have noticed that Christians spend a LOT of time trying to "convert" the people they feel are wrong. Atheist's generally mind their own business and follow their own beliefs with no concern about who is "right or wrong".

We atheists have less uniform answers than one may think...we don't have a book with all the *answers* so we are left to our own interpretations
If I choose a christian answers, I choose the one that doesn't say either "Jesus loves you" or "You're gonna burn in hell". Then I see which one answers it the best.
The atheist answers? See above.

Just to sum it up, most atheists are in agreement. Right?
So why does the one true god lead it's followers in so many directions?

It's just you. I think all people are individuals, no matter what the belief.
