I would definitely not be embarrassed if I received flowers. I had a girlfriend once who sent me flowers at work. Now keep in mind I was in the military at the time. If there is ever a place where a man would be embarrassed by that is at his military workplace. I was not embarrassed; I was very excited about it. See, women don't understand what men really want. Men want many of the same things women want, we just don't say that much about it. We like to know that we are being thought of and are cared about just as much as women do. So, if you want to send him flowers, do it. You'll probably be pleasantly surprised at his reaction.

The gesture is romantic, but it is not traditional. I know how happy I feel when I receive flowers, so I sent my husband flowers once while we were dating. It was his b-day, I went to the florist and told them that I didn't want girly- like roses ( pink, red) since this was for a guy. They tried to butch it up as much as they could... there was this autumn-y colored rose, like a burnt orange. It was unique and not real feminine. They used all greenery in the fill, no baby's breath or anything frilly. Sent it to my husband's office. I know he appreciated the gesture, but I didn't get the feeling he liked receiving flowers as much as I do. He even said, " I've never had anyone send me flowers before ". That was almost 7 years ago or so. I've never had the desire to send him flowers since. I was not offended by what sounded like a luke warm response to the gesture. There are so many ways to express affection, so I'll just be the one in this relationship who receives the flowers.

If guys can send girls flowers, why can't girls do the same? It's an act of love and kindness, why would that be embarassing? She's showing you she loves you. If people are tease you, **** them. They are just jealous that they don't get flowers.

When I was a grad student, I had a girlfriend who brought me flowers. I loved it. More to the point, my dormmates were jealous. Obviously, they liked the gesture too.

I would be very flattered. It's something you don't usually see and it's cute. It's nice to have a little role reversal every now and then.

I wanted to do that for an ex-boyfriend for his b-day...I ended up doing something else, but told him of my plan. He let me know it would not have been appreciated.
