Although they are not pure breed dogs as puppies, the parents, of the puppies are. The difference in a designer puppy and a mutt as some call them, is that the puppies do come from pure breed parents. It is a well known fact, the hybrid is generally more robust. (The pure breed dogs) are a result of crossing different breeds down through the years. For example, American Eskimo and Pomeranians, are bred down from a Keeshond. Yorkshire Terries are the decedents of about 5 different breeds of terriers and a little Maltese thrown in. Just to name a few: American Eagle's, Puggle's, Shiffon's, American Poogle's,Poochon's,Sheskie's,Malchie's,Wapoo's,& Malt-A -Poo's...getting weirded out yet?
A bull-poo is the sweetest sounding puppy...but cute she is not. Poor thing looks like an Ewok cross-bred with an ottoman! She has the Bulldog underbite, the kinky fur of a poodle, and the bulldog stance...*shakes head* I'm sure she is sweet but she looks like she was beat with the ugly stick......
Why would someone want to mess up these beautiful breeds by mixing them?? I mean, I know of many very smart labs and goldens, All of the poodles I know are idiots (even though the breed standard says they are very intellegent, bad breeding I think has takes some of this away) and I have yet to see a "labradoodle", "Goldadoodle" or "Schnoodle" with a brain bigger than a pea. They don’t even have the good looks of the two breeds. SO WHAT’S THE POINT?
Psssst: Backyard breeders: Crossing anything-and-everything with a poodle is not ALWAYS a good idea!
