I just started talking again to this guy that I met awhile back at my old job. He works as a pharmaceutical rep so he'd come in & out of the dr's office sometimes, and he gave me his card (we flirted here & there) but I never really got in touch with him. Well now I work at an insurance company and I'm starting to network, so I pulled out all my business cards I've aquired & came across his. So I emailed him, he remembered me (which is good!) and wants to do lunch w/me. He told me a day that could work for him, but it didn't work 4 me (which was fine w/him) Then I suggested Friday, so we had that planned. Well my tuesday meeting w/a manager had 2 be rescheduled to Friday because of the snow, the same day. So I emailed the guy and said that I'd have to reschedule. I haven't heard back from him, so I hope that wasn't rude, but this manager meeting is important, but should I have made him 1st priority? Was that wrong of me though?! =( I at least wrote him an email, is that ok?

I don't think it sounds rude at all.. you can't help that your meeting had to be rescheduled and hopefully he should be able to understand that... it shouldn't be a big deal to reschedule a lunch date..

It wasn't rude of u cos u emailed to tell him why u couldn't make it. And no u shouldn't have made him first priority. He might be busy or feeling that u don't want to meet him so hasn't replied.

I don't think you were rude. You need to make a living and you have responsibilties to that. If he can't be flexible, then it doesn't sound like a good match to me. Move on.
