I e-filed my return on January 31st using H&R Block TaxCut. I was given a confirmation e-mail saying my return was accepted. I chose direct deposit. It has now been two weeks. I tried using the "Where's My Refund" option on the IRS website and all I get is:

We are sorry, we cannot provide any information about your refund.

It can take up to 3 weeks to process your return. Please wait at least one week before you log-on again to check the status of your refund.

Is something wrong? Last year I e-filed and got my refund within a week. This year I'm not even getting an approximate date on when I will get it. Please help.

ADDED: Yes, I bought the software and e-filed with H&R using the "Simple Pay" deducted from my refund and the rest to be direct deposited. I am positive I'm putting in the right info, I'm taking it straight from what the software is telling me. I guess it's time to pick up the phone.

Called IRS, they said that they have sent the money to the preparer and it is up to the preparer on when my refund will be direct deposited. Do I need to now call H&R Block?

Wow-there must be something wrong. Are you sure you are entering all your info correctly on the IRS website? I efiled on Feb 1 and today the website was updated and said I will have a direct deposit on Feb 16th. That's over 2 weeks since I efiled---compared to last year only 6 days.

I would call and talk to someone and make sure they did receive your return and it is being processed. Since you efiled on Jan 31, you really should of had a direct deposit by Feb 9th according to their efile deposit schedule. Something must be wrong.

UPDATE:

YES, I WOULD DEFINITELY CALL H & R BLOCK SINCE IT SOUNDS LIKE THE BALL IS IN THEIR COURT NOW. AT LEAST YOU KNOW THAT THE MONEY IS THERE AND READY TO BE DISTRIBUTED AND HOPEFULLY THEY WILL DO IT SOON. GLAD YOU WERE ABLE TO TALK TO SOMEONE AT IRS AND GET SOME HELP TOO. :)

Inasmuch as you have tried the recommended way, now try the telephone. In your tax booklet that came with your return it gives you the number to call. In any event, give it one more week.
You did not say if yo e-filed with H&R, or if you bought the disk yourself and filed it it yourself. I bet that makes a difference also.
If H&R filed it for you, check with them.
If you filed it yourslef, I suspect H&R will check on it only if you agree to pay them an additional sum of money. This is the kicker in the purchase of their disck for do it yourselfers.
