I was in New Orleans this past weekend and will be there again this weekend for Mardi Gras. Where do you live? If almost your entire city was under water could the people living in your area fix it in just a year and a half? Probably not. Yes it is true that much of New Orleans and the surrounding areas have not been repaired, but it is also true that many people are rebuliding, have rebuilt, and are dedicated to making their home the place it used to be and maybe even better. I know from personal experience that most people in Orleans Parish, St.Bernard and other parishes may not even have the money to go back and repair. And I can also give you this promise: If you visited New Orleans this weekend until Tuesday, and you saw the people and everyone's joy and excitement, you would never know that this city was not repaired.
New Orleans was never in need of repair at heart. It just needs some fixing up on the exterior.
Any questions? This posed a good arguement.
thanks.

Unfortunately yes and no its still things that needs to be repaired, and some things will never be repaired. It is a time process but if you ask me racism with Bush is part of such late timing.

Unless the magical fairy waved her wand, nope.
It's going to take decades for Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana to rebuild. Some stuff down here still looks like it did August 30, 2005.

Well, not entirely. It's gonna take years to rebuild from all that devastation. They're working on it though. They have a resilient spirit, and those who are trying, WILL succeed.
If you can, go for Mardi Gras, and give them your emotional support.
