Yes, my nephew used to get it all the time and he was older than that. Finally, I solved the problem with some baby oil. Just rub baby oil down through their hair to the roots, and let it soak into the scalp for about 5 minutes or more, then shampoo out. Keep doing that until it is gone. It works great. Also when shampooing it out, you may want to try and comb it out of the hair, and it may take more than one shampoo/rinse to get out all the oil and flakes.

Oh yes, my 18 month old still has cradle cap, firmly stuck to the top of her head!
I have been combing her hair when she is in the shower and some bits come out but there is still quite a bit in there, no sign of it shifting anytime soon.
S/he will grow out of it eventually. Some people will suggest putting olive oil on it, but since a friend of mine put it on her sons head, left it overnight, washed it in the morning, and yes the cradle cap did come off, but so did his hair, I have been reluctant to try it!!

Absolutely, I just took my 6 year old to the dermatologist. The condition that causes that (I can't remember the technical term) can also make patches appear on their face. That is where my son was having the problem. (If your child is prone to cradle cap, watch in the future, they might be prone to having similar areas break out around their nose and mouth area at a later age. (There is a prescription that will clear it up pronto.)

Yes, my 20 month old still can get dry, flaky skin on his scalp. He never really had it as a baby, but I noticed it a few months ago. I think the colder winter this year is having a lot to do with it. I only wash his hair every-other day now....sometime every two days, depends on what he gets in it! When I do wash it, I rub some oil gel into his scalp. His hair looks really greasy the next day, but I can tell a huge difference. Good luck!

Yep, my two year old had a bad case of it when she was a baby. She had thicker, curlier hair, too which made it harder for me to get out. I was really reluctant to "scrub" her head as her scalp would turn read even efter gently washing it. She still has little traces of it at 2, but it has been coming off little by little. It will eventually disappear.

my daughter still randomly gets it and she's 4. She has realllllly curly hair so i think that has something to do with it.

no because it usually begins at 3 months and its usually over at 12 months if the toddler does its really rare. You should consult the baby's doctor.
