they don't mention jesus much. I'm okay with the situation, but sometimes I kind of feel like a liar, but I don't have any other options in our small town. I really do feel connected to god when I go to church, but i forego things like communion, etc. Is this wrong? if so, what other options should i pursue? Bible beaters need not answer

I think whatever worship you perform that makes you feel spiritual is right, for you. If you feel like an imposter in that Church, and there aren't any Churches in your area that are better options....I think you have a few choices....

You can move to an area that has more options...and more for you to explore.....

You can try not going to Church at all....just worshiping on your own...and seeing how that goes....

I am SURE that in this day and age there is an internet group that Pray together on line that will have some form of beliefs comparable with your own.

It honestly sounds like you might want to study, or look at, Judaism and Islam. I don't think anything can be wrong with a spiritual journey into other ideologues.....maybe take a look at Taoism.

You have the character of a Jew....and I mean that as a compliment (even if it's a touch arrogant).

At its base, the practice of religion is more about what you do than what you believe. Every denomination has its creed but I suspect that many members do not adhere perfectly to it, nor do they choose to dwell on the differences, as long as they get along.

You may be more comfortable going to a Unitarian church, but you may not have that option (and people may look at you funny if you did). You say you have a connection to God, so there is a point to your participation. You limit that participation, so you are not trying to change anyone else' faith. It's sad that the match is so imperfect, but it may be the best you can do for now. Appearances may have to be enough until you have an opportunity to extend the search for your true path. Be a good community member while staying true to your own beliefs. And don't give up your search.

If you don't have any options in your small town, then Almighty God gave us His Word, the Holy Bible. I believe NIV is the choice of the Methodist Church, but I prefer the KJV version of the Bible. From Genesis to Revelation the Bible is all about One person whose name is Jesus Christ.

Read your Bible and you will find out who Jesus is. The Branch, the Holy One of God the Old Testament is full of Jesus.

I suggest reading the book of Daniel and Matthew. Besides it clearly says "no one come to the Father but through Me" You can do the math to realize that Jesus did fulfill prophecy as the Messiah. He is a descendant of David, He was born in Bethlehem... if you do the math you will have a window of about 4 years and at that time He was the ONLY one on the scene claiming top be the Son of God. Do you follow the Bible? If you do how could you not acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God?

You will still be held accountable for your belief or lack thereof.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

You should start reading John from Chapter 1. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The Word is Jesus.

You should read the Bible more often and you should find a church who preaches based soley on the Holy Bible. My pastor does expository preaching (he teaches the Bible, not just preaches it). Many pastors are not capable of doing this or just choose not to (they may not understand it themselves).

I am not a christian nor have I ever been, in fact I find the whole christian faith demeaning and insulting. But that aside I would recommend setting up a meeting with the leader of your church to discuss your crisis of faith. Also many churches have counselors who are available to talk with members about most subjects. Also perhaps it is time to move to another faith. Judaism (sp?) preaches a faith that believes in god but that jesus was a prophet not a god.

The Methodist Church believes Jesus is the Son of God. Sounds like you should be Jewish!

I have to say that if you don't believe Jesus is the son of God then you are very correct to not take communion.

I am taking your question to mean that you do not believe Christ was born yet. As others have said, you might look for a Jewish service to see if they are compatible with your beliefs.

If you don't believe that Christ exists then you don't believe in the old testament and will not find what you are looking for in the Jewish community.

I'm a Pentecostal and the bible I believe in said that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. So my advice is to go to a true Pentecostal church and think about which one you feel is the truth.

Perhaps when you pray, you should ask God to direct you and help you. He will. Obviously, He is already working on you or you would not feel the need to even ask these questions. Search your heart and let God lead you and give you the answers which you seek.
