They do get cold. Some dogs are more tolerant, depending on age and breed. For example, a husky will do much better in the cold than a Chihuahua. Small dogs, short-haired dogs and dogs from southern climes should all have extra protection when they go outside in cold weather. There are even doggie boots available, although it`s usually best to teach them to wear the boots when they are young. Vaseline also protects the pads from sharp ice and salt.

They certainly do get cold! My Danes are outside right now, lifting a paw every so often because of the cold. With their short coats, they have no protection, so they don't stay out very long when it is bitterly cold.

My niece's husky needs boots in the winter to protect her pads.

They do. The amount of cold they can tolerate depends on the breed - northern breeds can tolerate it, while breeds like whippets and greyhounds can't take more than a few minutes in extreme cold.

I dont really know the answer to this.

All i know is my Welsh Sheepdog, loves the snow, i've got to just about drag im in from it.

they do! my dog took one look out the front door at the snow the other day n refused to go out! she's a wimp really....

they do but not as much as humans do, when they go in snow blood flow is reduced
