If I were you I would leave it alone. After about 3 or 4 weeks the color will be lighter. I used to dye my hair all the time and it really damages it. I tried so many different hair products, but my hair is still fried. Its not good for your hair to keep dying it over and over again. Trust me I should know. Also if you try to dye darker hair lighter this soon it may turn green. So be careful. I don't trust beauty salons either because Ive never gotten a good result. I prefer to just do it myself. If you do decide to strip it you can buy it at the store in the hair dye section and do it yourself. Good Luck with your hair. I hope you can get it to a color you like.

I don't think the light brown dye would show up,so you should remove the dark brown dye first.A product is suppossed to remove hair dye called Oops-I think that's the name- I saw it in a fashion magazine. I've never dyed my hair,I've only lightened a few strands with that summmer-look goldenbeach stuff. But since I'm getting a little grey I might dye my white granny strands-just a few.

You can not die your hair back to light brown- color can not lift color. You need to go to a professional and let them take care of it for you! I would suggest going with some subtle highlights. I had blonde hair and died it dark brown, and when I wanted to go back blonde I just got highlights and it made a wonderful difference. Or you could get the color stripped out- but this can be expensive. Just please let a professional do it!

I agree with Vesna, although I have bought another box if I was using an organic non-ammonia product, and done it over again and it's gotten to the lighter color I wanted. Total cost about $25. DON'T go get it stripped.
I did it both ways (home and hair dresser depending on my budget) until I started getting gray hairs, and then I couldn't do it myself anymore because the gray hairs took the color entirely differently than my other hair and it was awful.

Yes you can change it back, but you'll have to bleach that dark color out first. That process is pretty harsh on your hair so I'd suggest getting a really good Deep Conditioning Treatment, one that you leave on your hair for awhile. Then make sure to condition your hair every wash for awhile.

Honestly I would wait it out- in my experience and my friends', the hairdye will lighten soon, maybe even a week. Just let it go and it will lighten and then you could try dyeing it lighter.

Well the only way to get it back to your original color is to let it grow out,but I know you don't want to wait for that it would take so long.I would not do it yourself go to a professional and tell them what you want and they can work something out for you good luck!

and how about investing some money into a professional hair colorist, trust me it is the safest and in the end the cheapest way to fix the damage done.
