Being nervous is just part of it. I get nervous before a match everyone does. After the weigh in try going for a walk away from everything. I know it does sap some of your energy too if you get too nervous or worried. Remember it is natural unless you are like Rocky Marciano who would take naps before the fight.
If you are talking about a few hours I assume. Take a walk, talk to some friends about non mma stuff, bring portable video and watch, read a book.

it is adrenaline. adrenaline causes anxiety as it attempts to get you to take flight or take the fight.
adrenaline distorts your physical feelings, your cognitive abilities, your reactions... the list goes on. it acts like a hallucinogen, and can make you believe that you are not capable when you in fact are.
just realise it is a hormone doing its job, but control your breathing to one cycle of in and out per 6 seconds before the fight, right up to the bell.
be sweet in the knowledge that the other guy feels it too, and to keep your outward appearance calm. a calm body will help calm the mind. positive thinking ("I have trained for this moment, and I CAN win") and control of breathing will do wonders.
experience over time will enable you to have such strong positive thinking that you look forward to the next fight. its not that your fear goes away, but the positivity is just a stronger urge.

Make sure you are staying warm before the fight by hitting the bag or punching to work out the nerves. If you don't warm up before, you will experience that adrenaline drop you are getting.

I'd suggest meditation, but that's probably out of the question. Try wearing noise cancelling headphones and pump some hard rock music to get you motivated. Focus on the music and see yourself banging it with those bigger guys. Tune everything else out.

I usually just learn to not worry about it. I usually listen to some music that gets me pumped up. One this to remember is to not under or overestimate your opponent.
underestimate you leave yourself to open overestimate you fight to timidly

don't think directly about the fight. think about your game plan and what you are going to do. you don't want to "vege" and think aobut baseball or your girlfriend, you don't want to psyche yourself out by thinking about the outcome of the fight, think about what you will do and performing your techinqes and go over the points in your mind you don't want to forget that your coach tells you.
