Why is it that evertime a question is directed to a christian group, such as "prove Jesus is god", they get so defensive, agitated and on the attack mode, usually quoting scriptures. Are you people always so discomposed (is that a word?) and troubled in your everday lives too...? I almost feel sorry for you!!!

ok seriously, you definitely need a reality check...
NOT ALL atheist are defensive, agitated, and on attack mode.
you simply cannot grab all us (including me) and start pointing your fingers?
who is to say that you "Christians" are not like this? I don't grab all of you guys by the majority and say that "you're stupid and believing in something that's not real!!!"

and who is to say that we're "troubled and discomposed?" i dont go to church every sunday but that doesn't mean im a bad person who kills people and steal cars. why don't you try living with people who have different beliefs than you & respect them for it, instead of acting all snobbish.
grow up.

We don't get defensive unless people attack us. And we're bowled over by the hostility and ignorance that's directed at us. If you ask a question in a respectful manner, then we have no problem with that. If you post ignorant and ridiculous questions on here with the intention to insult, then yes, it irritates us. Atheists don't believe the same things you do. You need to get over it, stop the near-psychotic obsessing over us, and worry about what kind of person YOU are.

Put yourself in the Atheists place and then tell us why they wouldn't be. You already know the answer.

Because Atheists get attacked all the time, insulted, and told how they are supposed to live their lives. And worse, they don't get a justification for it from religious people other than "because the bible says so". How would you react to that?

That would be actually funny if it wasn't so sad.

Are you so discomposed and troubled in your everyday life that you need to come to Y/A and put down others in order to prop yourself up? Apparently that is the case.

I definitely feel sorry for you.

Wow! Every time?!! Are you sure about this? Why do you make me defend atheists? I think your question is purposely misleading, directed to cause trouble and it really bugs me. I have seen more religious people get defensive, lose their composure and go on the attack than I have atheists and it disturbs me. Now I'm doing it too. At least I'm stating the truth.

May God Bless you.

And I suppose that a question directed to Christians never elicits defensive, agitated and attack answers? Are you willing to state that? No one likes their beliefs questioned and sometimes those questions are nothing more than challenges to either accept or deny what the questioner is saying. I do feel sorry for you.

It's called projection - you need to employ this psychological defense mechanism in order to ensure that the thought system atheists have is disparaged by convincing yourself that its fruit bears the results. It's a classic psychological dynamic and you would do well to see what you're afraid of instead of trying to attack under its not-so-subtle veil.
