96.8 is the normal body temperature, so 95.9 is pretty normal.

When taking a measurement to ensure an accurate temperature reading, avoid eating , drinking any liquids, exercising, bathing or smoking for at least 15 minutes before. You temperature measurement is normal depending on which method use for there is three reliable methods to measure temperature, there is oral use, under the arm use, rectal use. And temperature reading can vary from person to person as well thermometer to thermometer fact is you find you normal temperature while watch for any changes in it. As for normal temperatures by these methods in use will be oral 98.6 F, under the armpit 97.6 F, and rectal 99.6 F which is proved the most accurate. So if the right methods in use are down properly one can determine accuracy in readings i hope in your case that was so i happy for you there is no high temperature because that added discomfort for you and see you doctor for flu medication. Get well soon.

On the low side, but normal. Often temperature lowers before running a fever.

No it isn't too low but this is most likely not an accurate reading. Be sure you did not just drink something within 10 minutes before checking your temp. If you took it orally be sure the thermometer is directly under you tongue but all way back inside your mouth and that your lips are closed. If this is an ear thermometer then be sure you pulled the upper part of you ear up and back to straighten out the ear canal before checking your temp.

you may have drank a cold drink or something to bring it down more.. so take it again.. but it is normal for a virus to drop your temperature sometimes.. if it gets too much lower call your doctor though.. again.. part of this was probably a faulty reading though.
