When you die your soul goes to paradise or Hades. Your body lies in the grave. When Christ comes again your body is given up by Death and Hades and you go to the judgment where you are on your way to heaven or hell.

God formed man out of the dust from the ground, "and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;and man became a living soul" Gen.2:7b.
You bring out here that "THE BIBLE SAYS THAT WHEN YOU ARE DEAD YOU ARE AS IN A SLEEP WITHOUT ANY DREAMS". Could you provide the scripture for this please ? I might be wrong but I don't believe it says that.
Bare in mind that God is eternal and everything that exist was created by Him.So everything is eternal as well. You can smash it and you will have pieces, you can burn it and you will have ashes.Man with all his science and ability cannot make an atom disappear.
Now for a little spiritual CPR.We know that God breathed the breath of life into Adam and he became a living soul. When Adam sinned he died spiritually. Now open up your Bible to John 20:22 and see how Jesus the Great Physician ministers some CPR."And when He said this , ( He breathed on them ) , and saith unto them , Receive ye the Holt Ghost." Jesus restores man back to Spiritual life to live once again.
So what about those who don't except Jesus ?
You will find that they have been reserved as the pieces and ashes were.Revelations 20:11-15 , after reading this read your ECCLESIASTES 9:5 and apply it to these who have not excepted Jesus as their Savior.I pray that the Holy Spirit will lead you.

Perhaps you are interpreting the "resurrection" wrong. No where does it say that that you are resurrected into a physical body here on the physical plane of earth. Perhaps it means you are resurrected or reborn into a high place in a more ethereal body such as the heavens or other planes of existence.
All religions Christianity, Budhism, Islam, Hinduism etc have the same teachings of the higher, pure planes of heavens and other places. All religions teach of the immortality of the soul. Your soul just happens to be residing in your physical body and will have to leave eventually whether you want to or not.
I hope this is clear to you. To serve
god you do good deeds, have good thoughts and have good words to others. God made man and man went out and made religions. Jesus did not found Chrisianity a religion. His followers did after he had left his body behind. Good luck.

Satan said that they would not die (their bodies), but that they WOULD BECOME GODS. That is the TWO-FOLD lie. However, Ecclesiastes 9:5 says, "For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten." This says nothing of sleep or dreams or unconsciousness. This verse speaks of the mortal body. It dies. It knows nothing because it is dead. However, God created man with a body, spirit and soul. the body dies, the spirit is kinda like your character or personality in a way, and the soul lives on either in Heaven or Hell (purgatory is nonexistent; it is not even hinted at in the Bible).
Also, Satan mixes truth with lie. so in some cases in the Bible, Satan tells a little bit of truth, but mixes it with error. That is how many occults like Catholicism, Mormonism, Islam, JW, and Uniformitarianism got started. A little truth with just enough lie.

b/c when we die our bodies are dead, until the second death (when we are ALL resurrected and are either sent to live with the Father for eternity or sent to eternal separation from God, which is the description of hell, being separated from God is hell. When we die and our bodies die our soul, the essence of who we are, goes up to the Lord. I am not positive how this time is for nonbelievers, as none of us know for sure because we have not yet been through it. But you are right when we die our bodies do die, but our souls are sent to meet the Lord. The Resurrection is when our souls are joined with a new perfect body, to be whole and live with the Lord forever, Amen! I do hope this helps, if you have any questions you want to talk about email me (look at my profile)

All mankind do die in the flesh, the lie satan told, that we would not. And the spirit is judged. If condemned it is sent to the second death. Revelation 20:13-15.
When Christ returns, the dead who have experienced the death told of in Ecclesiastes 9:5 will be resurrected and sent either to the second death, or the lake of fire (burning eternal torment), or if they be in Christ, have been redeemed of all sin, and will not be subject to the commandment made by God that the wages of sin is death.

II Cor 5:8 says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
Adam and eve died spiritually that day they disobeyed and could no longer be in the presence of the Lord. He sent them out of the garden and could not walk and talk with him the way he was. If you sleep in Christ, your flesh is sleeping, yes, but your soul and spirit are with God if you are a believer and if not a believer your soul is dead- death is eternal separation from God.

False pretense. Scripture never says that you will just end up in the ground and nothing happens. You can't take one verse and think that it is an authority on the subject. What about when Jesus tells the thief that he will be with him today in paradise? As you look of Scripture you can see that the Hebrews didn't really have a concept of Heaven and Hell. It was Sheol for them. They didn't really have a good understanding of what happens. I think that you if you look more intently at the NT you can see a more clearer picture of Heaven and what happens when you die.

First of all the scripture that you posted is referring to the dead not knowing anything concerning the treasures of the world in an attempt to teach that you can't take them with you in the next life, so they shouldn't be a focus of this life. So correct interpretation would help you.
Also, there are two deaths a temporal ( the body dies) and spiritual (you are separated from God), so the soul lives forever but if you haven't repented then you suffer spiritual death, and cannot live in the presence of God.

Well i am a christian and i agree with you. There is no living soul once we die. We just stop being period. I was always taught that god would make his final judgement on the world and those that served him would be resurrected to an eternal life. As he wanted Adam and Eve to be from the beginning.
