I recently (7 weeks ago) had the 'flu as opposed to a bad cold, and lo and behold as a bonus I've just had another dose of it, I thought you couldn't get it twice in succession due to the antibodies that you must have in your system from the previous dose of the flu. Any ideas why?

Your immune system is low and there are many different flu viruses........You need to build up your immune system with a tonic or better yet buy some echineasa from a health store.....the fluid has a far quicker effect than tablets or capsules......you only need a couple of drops in a small glass of water to be taken 3 to 6 times a day.....this will build up your immune system against all colds and flu viruses.......if you suffer with catarrh and have a bad cough cut out all dairy foods as these promote catarrh and drink plenty of concentrated grapefruit juice, this will make your cough productive and will eventually rid you of the catarrh.......hope you get better soon.....

You can't catch the same strain but you can get a different one. Just because you have built up the antibodies of one type of flu doesn't mean you are safe from other types.

There are many different types of Flu viruses that all cause similar symptoms. You probably had 2 slightly different variants of the flu - hope you are feeling better now

There are loads of variants on the flu virus, just as for colds, you're immune only to the specific ones that you've had. Unlucky!

the flu virus can change so even though you get one strain and build antibodies against it, you can catch another strain and get sick again.

Your immune system was still weak. And the new virus was slightly different than the first.
