What does it mean for you? I heard it on a youtube video...

He screwed this saying up too. The saying goes, "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me!" He said, " Fool me once, shame on me then you never get fooled again" (close)

The saying goes fooled me once shame on you, fooled me twice shame on me. It means that the first time something is done to you it is the bad persons fault. The second time it is your fault for not learning the lesson. Bush messed it up cause he didnt want to say someone fooled him. One of my fav bush quotes.

If you manage to fool me once, then shame on you (i.e., it's your fault). If you manage to fool me a second time, then shame on me -- it's my fault for letting you fool me.
