Straighten small pieces at a time. If you put a huge section of hair in the straightener, it won't make it very straight!

I had a hair strightener for a while and was doing it wrong...the best way is to do it in tiny pieces, one at a time, slowly. It might take a while though, so you have to be patient, but it works for pretty much anyone. I usually divide my hair in two, put each in a hair tie, and take out small sections of hair as I go- then when both sides are done, I put my hair up and start at the back; so I end up going over it at least twice: it's important to get the back in order to flatten it.

Brush out your hair really well so that it's as smooth and non frizzy as you can get it make sure to straighten it dry even if you have a wet to straight or a flat iron like that. There's lots of shampoo and conditioner for before straightening your hair like straight ahead by John Frieda.

I havent tried this yet, but my friend said that before straightening your hair (obviously when its dry) blast it with hairspray. So that way, you are straightening the HAIRSPRAY not your HAIR. It doesn't damage and fry it that way
