cute.
Um, obviously the Bible was written in terms that that authors and the readers of that day could understand.

Actually I am sure that even magnetic media, databases and our large storage capabilities are obselite (did i spell that wrong - it looks weird) anyway - All thru the generations as people read the passage, whether they be from 300 years ago, or today, would understand by "book" that it means "written record".
Actually its a large scroll which opens up like a "banner", and is written on both sides -
meaning its a record that is quite detailed, and quite complete.

Revelations was written after Apostle John was shown these things in Heaven. God used books because that was what John could relate to. You can rest asurred that our words and deeds are being recorded and we will be judged by how we follow God,s Plan of Redemption. This is following what is written in Acts 2:38. We must be Born Again of the water and the Spirit. St. John 3:5. We must have an experience with Jesus, just like they did in the Upper Room on the Day of Pentecost. When we do this, our names are recorded in the Lambs Book of Life!!

the book of revelation was written by apostle John during his exile in the island of Patmos.Jesus gave him vision of what will happen in the future. It is an open book because what was written is not fulfilled yet.we are now in the last days and people are either cold or hot in their relationship with God.What was written will going to happen because the bible has no mistake or error. It is trustworthy...John wrote this book so christians would trust that God controls whatever happen here on earth and also for the unbeliever given the chance to know and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Opened meaning able to be understood by man. Example, Revelation is an open book, allowed by God to be understood by man and God gives anyone a blessing for reading it. Whereas, Danial, in the Bk of Danial was told by God to seal up his book until the end times. Not so long ago has Danial been understood by man. Todays age, both books are opened (understood) by man which is a sign of the end times. Opened here means understood, revealed.

Books are easier to read by humans than magnetic media. I suspect that whatever technologies God uses, they are far advanced to anything we could even comprehend. So, when He deals with us humans, He deals in imagery that we can understand.
Isaiah spoke of airplanes in chapter 18 but he was not familiar with airplanes and so had to describe them the best he could using the words he had at the time.

To me you have two types of revelations no#1 you have the book of revelations and no#2 you have revelations from God, the book of revelations is the past, present, and future of time of exsitance. No#2 you have revealations through the spirit of God which to me is 1 of the best things that has ever happen to me. were the scripture opens right before your eyes, and you like have visions. Its aw!!!!!some when that happens. buflobut

Revelation 20:12 - And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
The books are the record of our works (deeds). And and the dead(lost sinners) were judged out of those things which are recorded in the books of works.
Another book which is the book of life(Lamb's Book of Life) contains the names of all saved people.

The book being open represent that the stuff God want to do before the End of the World. I don't think it is talking about a real book, that just a symbol.

It's the seals are what are important. They represent the fact that the event could not be allowed to happen until that particular time.
