I just got back in contact with her after a long time of not seeing her. At one time, she liked me, but I did not make a move. When I offered to meet up and catch up, she said she was interested and would get back to me about what worked for her. The idea was hers to meet up. Is that considered a date?

Not necessarily. When you offer to meet to catch up it is more what you said...catching up. That does not in any way mean you cannot catch up and see if she would be interested in going on a date. It may work out well. :)
I got reacquainted with an old high school friend a few years back, and we got together for drinks and lunch. It was just that. Just getting together.

Online dating seem to be the in trend right now but also try other forms of meeting women. Maybe you are coming off too serious and it may be scaring some women off. You seem to have very good qualities as a person. You just need to loosen up. Remind yourself to smile and keep a good personality during your dates. Looks don't matter to a lot of women, only the superficial ones and those are the ones you want to stay away from anyway. We usually don't find love when we're looking for it so just enjoy yourself on the dates without any expectations and love will eventually find you. It takes time and patience. There is someone out there for everyone and when you least expect it, it will come to you.

This is a tricky situation. I've been in similar situations, I would tell you to dress up and treat it like a date and you should be able to tell if she thinks its one by the way she is
a- how she is dressed (if she is in jeans its not a date)
b- hair and make up - if she has her hair done nice and makeup is clearly done
c- conversation - 1/2 hr into the "date" you should know by the way she talks

I would say that if she used to like you there is a good chance she is still interested and is asking you on a date. If she is attached then she just wants to be friends.

To me it sounds like a date, just go for it & see what happens. She might be too shy to make the first move so go for it!!!!

Hard to say....I chill with girls all the time, and they're not dates....it's a date if you're both interested, it's not if you're both friends, or if one doens't know the other has feelings....I think that makes sense...
