I guess I should have mentioned that I don't drink, smoke or do any kind of drugs.

Yes, I do have a gas heater. We had it checked at the beginning of winter by the gas company and it checked out okay.

Do you suffer with sinuses? If so then maybe you can get some meds over the counter of your choice, but do check with a pharmacist for the best ones. I myself wakes up some mornings with some terrible headaches because I suffers with sinus problems. As your head is laid in the downward position, your sinus has a tendency to travel to the back of your ears, throat etc. causing these areas to suffer complications. Your membranes swell in your nose, you become a Little congestive ( not always congested ) because your breathing passive can flow on the normal and yet you can still be experiencing a sinus infection. You don't have to show drastic problems with the nose to have sinus infection. See a physician as soon as possible if this condition is persistent. And it also could be some other reason for your pain.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

Do you have a gas furnace? Maybe a gas leak? If your house checks out you may want to see a doctor...your body is telling you something isn't right.
