Yes, I do have a record. For whatever reason when my name is used it comes back clear. I worked for a parameticual distribution company for 9 years..I was told by the agency that my record was clear. They use the correct SS so why wouldn't that bring up the right name?

First off, which system? Federal or State? If you were fingerprinted for a federal crime it most likely will not show up when they run your name through ACIC.
But if they run your name through NCIC like the check they did for your job it will show up. It all depends on the crime your were arrested for and where you were arrested.
There are two different fingerprint cards one for federal and one for state. If the fingerprints were not done right, they get sent back to the agency that took them and are not filed.

That does seem strange - do you have a criminal record that would cause it to show up on a fingerprint check? If not - you might want to dispute that.

Did you use a different name when you were arrested? Was it run with and without middle initial? Was your name inquiry requested from the correct state? So many questions can determine the cause of this. Thats just for starters....

Because multiple people have the same name, and move around so can get lost in the system ... only you have your fingerprints

It prevents false identities. You can't hide your fingerprints.
