The 16th Amendment to the Constitution Passed by Congress July 2, 1909. Ratified February 3, 1913.

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

The IRS is a US government entity (Treasury Dept), not an independent corp. See: www.irs.gov

The 16th amendment to the Constitution.

The IRS isn't an independent corporation. It's part of the Treasury Dept.

Haven't you asked this before?

Search for "Title 26" and you will have the law.

....and the "IRS is a independent corporation" BS is just that.....tax protester BS.

If you are correct, how come now one has ever used the court system and proved it? Many tax protesters have gone to court but not one of them has gotten out of paying the tax......and penalties.....and interest.

Haha...you must not have looked very hard.

Besides, even though taxes suck, they aren't that bad. Without taxes how would the government fund the schools you or your kids go to, the roads you drive on, the freeways and traffic signals, waste management services, public health services like mosquito control and things like that?
