my dog has a problem with licking himself infront of our guests and i was just wondering if that was normal or if there was any way i could stop him.

Because they are cleaning themselves.

Give them hands they would wash, they don't have them so they lick.

This is normal behavior for both females and males.

First make sure there is no irritation in this area like flea bites or rashes..

Get some numbing cream or something that tastes bad. Your vet probably has something.

He is just showing you and your guests how clean he is. No shyness there.

Are you a brand new dog owner? All dogs do it!! Try cleaning him more often.

Are you or your guests jealous? Why would that bother anyone? He is a DOG, that is what they do. If your guests are that sensitive, send them home!
