I had protected vaginal sex with a girl which i just knew is HIV possitive. After i was told, i´m feeling all symptoms (white tongue, swollen glands, sore throat, fatigue...every thing). A friend told me if i used the condom properly, i don´t need the test. My risk was 2 years ago... Do you guys think i need the test...Are condoms 100%???

PD. 1 MONTH AFTER MY EXPOSURE, I HAD SEX WITH MY GIRLFRIEND AND SHE GOT PREGNANT (SHE AND THE BABY WERE NO REACTIVE DURING THE 9 MONTHS SHE WAS TESTED).

you're saying you don't need the test, but I would rethink that and get the test anyway. It's really easy, just walk into a clinic and they take a swab from your mouth

Condoms do not protect you 100% from anything. There is a small chance that you could have been exposed, but just because your girlfriend didn't catch HIV doesn't mean that you didn't either, she could have just gotten lucky. If you had sex with the HIV+ girl two years ago and are just now experiencing symptoms, it is possible that you have HIV. Go and get the test done anyways, just to be sure. HIV symptoms can appear at anytime, so you have to be sure. Since its been two years, then you can know for certain if you have it, since HIV can sometimes take up to six months to appear after exposure. Its been well over that time period. Good luck to you, but get the test done anyways. Those symptoms could be symptoms of HIV, but they could also be something else. You should know for certain. It's the worst when you don't know.

COME ON!!! get tested, HIV symptoms appear years after the infection took place, why are people so ignorant? Don´t you pay attention to the prevention campaigns. Get the test, you should have gotten it 2 years ago. Just get the test and get your result, if you are positive you get tratment on time and if you are negative you´ll find peace, so just get the damn test. And no condoms are not 100% efficient, if it ruptures or tears we´ve got a problem.

If you're feeling all these symptoms, you should get yourself tested just to be on the safe side. Condoms are good but not 100%effective. I think there's something like a 1% chance of them not working. Here's something for you to check out.

it can take up to 10 years for the virus to show up in your system so you might just need to get tested and keep getting tested because condoms have little tiny holes in them that are passive which means that liquids could pass through.
