I just recovered from a 72 hour respitory infection which included fevers up to 102.5. The fevers broke and came back about 5 times over those 72 hours. I still have the infection but not the fevers. After the fevers broke each time I was seeing 98.4-98.7 temp. Now its been 12 hours since the last fever broke but my temp is down to 96.5-97 and I'm feeling hot. Why the low temp? Why am I still feeling hot? ( I have seen the doctor and I dont believe my low temp is very serious, I'm just curious why)

The normal temperature range for an adult is 97.6 to 99.6. Per what you've stated, yours is not normal. This can happen due to stressors. Illness is a form of stress that can throw the body thermoregulation off kilter temporarily. It can also happen because of other factors. Maintain your fluid intake and recheck your temp in another 12 hours. If it remains below 97.6, report this to your doctor.

Because your body has a virus it is trying to fight. You can be sick and have a temperture of 97.6, it doesn't have to be higher than the norm, it can also be lower and indicate illness.
