A lot of relijious people who say that are usually hypocrits. Those are usually the very close minded people that dont accept someone for who they are and judge a book by its cover.

If you jump off a 10 story building you are going to splatter like a tomato no matter WHAT you believe,or whether or not you think it's 'fair'.God made heaven and hell and we can believe whatever we want,it changes nothing.'absence from the body is presence with the lord' then, the judgement.God will not create a special place for you just because you don't believe in hell....nice try, though.

And untrue.
Hell is a state of mind that you allow if you let fear take over.
I do not believe in hell as religion teaches. People are living in hell because of their own tormented thoughts. It's not necessary.
Read Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsh. It tells you all about it.

Great question...keep asking them

No, any religion that doesn't give you a real choice in the matter is unfair. Such as "Believe in this or we will kill you". But what you're speaking of isn't one of those.

You don't have to follow any particular religion and aren't being made to. But if you want to follow a specific religion, then following it means abiding by the rules set down for it.

Think of it like joining a club. If the club requires that as a member you wear a yellow hat, then you wear a yellow hat. If you don't want to wear a yellow hat, then don't join the club. You're not being made to join the club, you have a choice in the matter. If it's the best club around and you wanted to join it because of the benefits it offers, well, that's too bad, then. All you had to do was wear the yellow hat.

I personally don't believe in hell. I think when people say that to those of a different religion or the non religious, it is out of fear. People fear what they don't understand. I think they use that as sort of an easy way out rather than actually doing a little research on other ways of thinking.

"in the event that they have been a sturdy individual yet a non-Christian, why would they be sentenced to eternal torment in a fiery inferno?" subject with it incredibly is that the bible says no one does sturdy. No guy seeks to thrill God. all of it comes from inward nature of human beings. Being sturdy does not get you to heaven. in trouble-free terms the blood of Jesus Christ brings a individual to heaven. Its no longer in trouble-free terms Non-Christians who're going to hell. Professing Christians would have their area too. Matthew 7 is very for them.

The reason various religions say that you will go to hell if you are a non-believer is to scare people into being believers. Which, of course, is nonsense. You cannot suddenly believe in something just because you are threatened. I long for the day when humans wise up and drop religions, once and for all.

I don't think there is a hell, but I agree that religions that say all nonbelievers will go to hell is very unfair.

People need to stop asking this stupid question. If A person is a non believer then they dont believe in hell so why does it matter if people think they are going there. The place is not exsistant to them anyway.

Hell exists in the absence from the almighty. He has many different names. He knows what is in your heart and only the truly evil go to hell. Not calling God by any name does not mean he doesn't live in your heart. I do not beleive what some beleive in that anyone who doesn't follow 'their' religion is hell-bound, no. Allah, God, Jesus Etc... all names for the same being.

Who said God was fair? Why was Israel His chosen people and not the rest of the world? Why are many called, but few chosen? My Bible says Hell exists, there are descriptions of it, that's good enough for me. To water it down to "the grave" or deny it altogether, is easy-believism and I won't go down that road.
