Okay so here it goes. I like this guy, his name is Devin. He works with me and I am crazy about him. He is soooo shy. He wont talk to me hardly at all. So one day i finally got up the nerve and asked him if he wanted to go get something to eat after work. He said he had to head home right after work because he had these assignments due. I asked if he was blowing me off and he said no he really did have to do these assignments. He said another day though. well i know, its only been three days but he hasnt said anything to me. and i my friend asked him if he liked me and he said i dont know yet, a little. and he was blushing, smiling, and looked away. Then yesterday he said hes afraid if he dates me that i will hear all the hell everyone gives him (because hes so shy) (and everyone makes fun of him at work)and if i hear it, i'll not like him and break up with him. It kinda sounds like an excuse but on the other hand he IS really really shy. So what do you think? I need so much help. Do i confront him again? Or leave him alone?

Leave him alone. He is way too shy to be dating and has figure out how to get over it.

How old are you two? Why does he care what others say about him so much? Why would you care? If you seriously want to go with him approach him again and tell him that you don't care about what will be said because your not childish like some of the people in your workplace. Tell him you want to date him for what you see in him and not what everyone else does. If he doesn't go for you then, he might not be that into you and is just trying to find a nice way to turn you down.

To be honest, I'm not so sure that he likes you. If he did he would've blown off the assignments to have dinner with you. It's not like it would've taken all night, he could've finished them later in the evening. But I could be wrong of course! Give him a chance.....What I would do is give him a bit more time then casually invite him out again after work. If he says no again then I think you have your answer.

He sounds like he has an extreme case of dilbilitating shyness! I'm surprised the poor guy even works outside the home...seriously. My best advice to you would be to just leave him alone and move on. You sound like a really great person, outgoing and friendly...and someone like you needs to be PURSUED and not to PURSUE.
He knows that at this time, he has nothing to offer you because he can't really speak up for himself. He needs to mature, and who knows what the future holds. Till' then, move on, enjoy your life and enjoy being you!

well, if you really like him make sure that the two of you have just a few minutes to talk or give him your phone number so you can talk on the phone. If he is making up all these excuses he might just be trying to avoid conflict or avoid (you). If you absolutely knows he likes you go ahead and talk to him, but if your not so sure i would hold on. as a shy person i like it when boys come to me. good luck

i like a shy guy right now. it can be frustrating for us girls because we really wanna know if you like us. and sometimes you dont show it. being shy is not a bad thing we think it is cute. i have a question for you: how do shy guys show girls that they like them? by doing things for them or what? please answer my question. :) i really would like to look for signs that the shy guy i like likes me back

Tell him you don't care what everyone else thinks or says. Tell him you would love to get to know him, but you're not going to keep asking him and you are leaving it in his hands. This way he knows you really like him and you're not bugging him. If he doesn't take you up on you're offer or never metions it again I would leave it alone.

You are not the most important thing in his world. Leave him alone. And dating at work is not a good thing. It gets really ugly.

leave him alone for a few days.don't totally ignore him,still talk to him but not about your feelings for him. then if he doesn't bring up you to as a couple then bring it up again but try not to come on too strong. just try to hang out with him and spend time with him and let him know that you like him but don't make it so obvious. hopefully he'll come around!

i dated a shy guy to and u just have to find out what he likes and talk to him about that. the reason he is probaly shy is cause he doesnt realky know anyone so take it slow. guys like that scare of easily
