According to the California Employment Development Department, if the individual was discharged or terminated, the EDD will conduct a telephone interview with the individual and the employer approximately two weeks after the claim is filed to determine whether or not the individual is eligible for UI benefits, according to state law and regulations. While its not entirely impossible to collect unemployment benefits as you can always appeal your case, in most instances, it would be difficult as poor performance is not a valid ground for grant of unemployment. So make sure you do better and try to keep your job.

I guess but before you go to that extreme you might want to re-read the job description. I'm not sure termination is justified.
