you don't need a credit card to set up your lists and preferences on i-tune store but u do need a credit card to buy songs from there. each song is 99 cents and last time i checked u can only buy individual songs. so for example if you wanna buy all the song in the eminems new album 'the re-up' it will cost a lot more from i-tunes then just to buy a cd from amazon, ebay or half for like 5 bucks or less. and i am sure u know this but u can put songs from your cd's to i-tunes/i-pod by coping the cd song on the library and then to your i-pod........so i would suggest that u buy the cds which are extremely cheaper then buying each songs from i-tunes at 99 cents. good example...justin timberlake's new cd the futuresex will cost u 12 bucks on i-tunes and its little more then 5 bucks on amazon.
p.s. if u choose not to use i-tune store then disable it from the preferences or they spy on you.
hope this helps

Yes, it's true that you have to pay for the songs on iTunes store. I got a 15 dollar gift card for my last birthday. I don't buy songs off of iTunes anymore. I downloaded Limewire and transfer the files to iTunes. This is how you do it:
1. Download LimeWire.
2. Open both LimeWire and iTunes.
3. Download songs from LimeWire.
4. Click and hold unto the song you have selected (after it's downloaded unto your LimeWire Library.)
5. Drag and drop it in iTunes Library.
6. The next time you connect your iPod to your computer, the song(s) will go unto it.

There you go, you have FREEly downloaded a song and put it into iTunes!!!

yeah u need a credit card to purchase songs from the itunes store, and u need to be 16 and above. If you intend to buy make sure you ask permission from your parents before using thier credit card.

You can buy preloaded cards from like Best Buy and Circuit City, maybe even walmart and then you dont have to worry about using your parents credit cards
