YES YES YES! you absolutly must go to Seven Pools. Like the name says its seven pools that link together by water falls. The upper pools are great! they are just a short hike but you get to see huge falls just tumble down. Some you can even jump off of if you and your wife are dare devils. There are also hidden pools further uptop. Areas that tourists don't really know about. They are seclusive and the most beautiful of all the falls. I went for an Ecological/Marine bio study trip. I have pictures of the place if you are interested. But i'm sure you could also find some online.
Haleakula (house of the rising sun) is also fun. You go up there to see the sun rise. It's neat because you are right between 2 cloud layers and the sun comes up right between them. The only downside is you gotta get up early and its often very cold and wet up there so dress warm!

You probably would not want to stay in or near Hana, a 33 mile road with MANY hair turn pin turns, one car bridges and the best of drivers would take 2 and a half hours to get there. It is a beautiful must see place on Maui, but I sure am glad My hotel was not in or near Hana. Also food is very expensive in Hawaii, try to find a place that offers at least a continental breakfast. A gallon of Milk is almost 7.00, bread 3.00 eggs 4.00, it was shocking. Many hotels offer free upgrades for honey moon and anniversary. Congratulations, Hope you enjoy your trip. :)

Ula Lena in Lahaina. It's a play about the roots of Hawaii, and it is EXCELLENT! Very charismatic and full of Hawaiian culture & legends.
If you like hiking go to Hana and hike the 2 miles up to the bamboo forest - there's a tall waterfall at the end of the trail, too. I think it's at the top of the seven pools?
Adventurous? Try Skyline Tours zip line cable ride down the side of the volcano, over gorges and pools. We got rained out...boo hoo, but if I ever get to go back.... You need reservations many weeks in advance so check the internet soon for availability.

Go to the top of Haleakala and watch the sunrise. Drive the circuit around the West side of the island. Go scuba diving. Find a nice hammock on a quiet beach somewhere.
Where are you staying? Hyatt Maui is my favorite.

Hawaii is the best place on earth. Maui is my island of choice. Diverse as to activities and interests. The best beaches, sunshine, rainforests, waterfalls, whales (in season), restaurants, shopping, hiking, scenic drives..... etc.etc.etc.
If you go, please do yourself a favor. Purchase the book "Maui Revealed". You won't regret it. It is by far the best guidebook(s) for Hawaii. The reviews are spot on and the available website is priceless when choosing where to stay. There are aerial views of almost every hotel in the islands. Go and enjoy.
