He can't be. He's either one or the other.

He's not God. He's the son of God and a guide for people to live better lives. Over the centuries people have elevated him to God status. Even Jesus, when on the cross said "Father, why hast thou forsaken me?". If he was God, why would he say that? There's only one God and people who love someone so much that they raise that person to mythical and God like status are being human, but not doing truth any favors.

I was wondering the same thing. How could Jesus talk to God and ask for miracles when he is God.

The whole concept is really hard to understand... Jesus IS God. Basically, God sent a part of Him down to Earth.

It is a role that He has chosen.

It would take to long to explain the trinity to you.

One God Three roles. God the Father... Creator. God the Son... servant and example for humans. Holy Spirit... comforter and the indwelling God within us.

Unless there really is the potential for more than one God... it is impossible.

And if the potential exists...it gives new meaning to Jesus' teachings about how there are "mansions" prepared for us in Heaven, and how we can inherit "all that the Father has".

Good question.

He is both the son of man and the son of god (He goes by many names) He was concieved by the holy sprit (son of god) and born of a human woman (son of man) and all are god in deity.

This is a very simple answer, because HE IS GOD.

Nothing is impossible with God. He is Jesus, and Jesus is also His son- He became flesh- John 1:1
He sent His son, Jesus to die on the cross, but it was also God--Remember God's ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts....who can comprehend?

Hosea 14:9
Who is wise? He will realize these things. Who is discerning? He will understand them. The ways of the LORD are right; the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them.

How can someone be a father and a son at the same time?

Jesus is God.

You will get a better explanation in the bible than you will on YA!

There is a bit of a misunderstanding there.

Jesus = deity.
Father = deity.
Holy Spirit = deity.

"God" = usually refers to The Father as a 'nickname', however it is a specific title that refers to what Jesus, the Father, and the Holy Spirit are.

Example :
My husband goes by a nickname on the 'net. I call him by his real name, by his nickname (in the presence of other people on the net), or by simply, "man" (a rarity, and usually when I'm perturbed at him, but still applicable). "Man" is what he is, but I call him that as well. In several years, I can call our sons "men" as well (atm I call them "boy" or "boys"). My sons are not my husband, but I could refer to them in the manner of what they are, as opposed to who they are.

So it is with Jesus. By calling Him "God", we are referring to what He is, as opposed to who He is. Likewise with YHVH, the Father... we refer to Him by what He is, as opposed to who he is. Jesus is the Son of YHVH (Jehovah, in English). Our boys are the sons of my husband. We refer to Jesus as both the Son of God and as God, just as I refer to my children as being the sons of a man, and (will eventually be) as men as well.

To clarify... how can I call my sons "man", if my husband is "man" as well? Easily, it is what they are. Sure, they have names, and I use them, but I'm more apt, in some situations, to call my husband "man" than I am my sons.

I hope this makes sense to you.

Edit : To TJTB - Read Psalm 22. That is why Jesus proclaimed "Father, why hast thou forsaken me". One final prophecy being fulfilled upon the cross.
