Let me clarify this first, they broke off from the Mormon chruch and still practise poligamy, the Mormons, or LDS or the church of jesus Christ of latter-day saints, do not, they do in the form that when they get a divorce, they do not get a Temple divorce. There is also the reorganized Mormon church as well. Now that you are confused on the churches that broke off from the Mormon church let me say that both the church that practises poligamy and the Mormon church BOTH believe that the curse of Cain was black skin. When I was a mormon for 36 years, I read it myself in the Mormon KJV Bible and in the Book of Mormon (which suppose to explain were the indians come from). They also believe that Jesus marriade three wives, one of them being Mary madeline. So I guess the LDS church was happy when the Da Vinci code came out. LOL.

It is a personal believe held by some members of the LDS faith also. However, it can even be disputed within their faith, as I'm sure the source of different colored people could in many faiths. The reason it is associated with Cain is because the Bible mentions a curse which was outward or visable. It doesn't say what exactly that curse was, but we can take stabs at it. I've heard some people try and say that Big Foot/Sasquatch is Cain. You've got me. I guess we'll find out in the afterlife.
Oh, I'm Mormon.

That show was not about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it was about those who have broken away from the church and they are not LDS members. It's hard not to confuse the two since the LDS church was associated with polygamy for a short while. But, please don't be confused, the two are separate and do not teach or believe the same doctrine.
***We don't believe Jesus married 3 wives. Seriously, there is SOOOOO much incorrect info about the LDS church - if you want to truly know what we believe, go to LDS.org, mormon.org or speak with some local missionaries.

If the guy said Cain it just shows his ignorance. The person cursed and thought to be the progenitor of black people was Canaan, not Cain. One of Canaan's sons was Cush who is identified as the progenitor of Ethiopians.
However, to suggest that skin color was the result of Noah's curse is nonsense.

* Did any of you watch "The Outsiders" news program on Polygamy last night? *
Yes, i watched the show. I was not impressed at all.
If Cain was Black (*****) then so was Adam and his wife Eve and all of their other children up to and including Noah.
The Bible Genesis 10:6
The sons of Ham: Kush ( Ethiopians), Mizraim ( Egypt ), Phut( Libya) and Canaan.
The Bible Genesis 10: 15-18
Canaan was the father of Sidon his firstborn, and of the Hittites, Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites, Hivites, Arkites, Sinites, Arvadites, Zemarites and amathites.
Later the Canaanite clans scattered...
------------------------------------------------------------------
Ham ( son of Noah ) supposedly was cursed by Noah
after he viewed and mocked Noah while Noah was naked and in a drunken stupor.
Ham had a son called Canaan. Canaan was the so called father of the Caucasians (meaning deteriorated Asians or blacks). The Caucasians of today are the descendants of Canaan, the son of Ham, the son of Noah. Even today
Amorite is still applied to Caucasians.

Yes. I saw it. They were Fundamentalist LDS. Mainstream LDS recanted the "curse of blackness" thing in the 1970's. I think they were feeling the heat and HAD to change it.

Nope, it's actually all sects of religion that adhere to the Bible. It's pretty clearly spelled out there that Cain was indeed cursed for murdering his brother.
