I had braces for years. I didn't eat any gum, jolly ranchers, gummy types of candy, or caramel and peanut candy. The orthodontist will give you a list of what you can and cannot eat.

It is best not to eat candy with (or without) braces. Try sugar free if you want something sweet. Chewy candy such as caramels are not good and if you eat hard candy, don't chew it...it can make the brackets snap off. Your orthodontist will give you lists of things you can and cannot eat.

Yes you can. People say you can't eat junk food with braces...It's just their tricky way of trying to get you not to "rot" out your teeth.. But yes you can. I eat cotton Candy all the time with braces!

You can eat pretty much anything after the first week. You're going to be sore so things that need to be chewed a lot aren't the best thing. After that though you can chew gum even.
It will contine to be hard to bite down on things though. so like hamburgers and stuff are sorta difficult to eat, but you'll be fine. Don't freak out it really isn't that much of a change. Good luck!

You will want to stay away from any sticky, chewy, hard candies that could break your brackets off. Remember tho after you eat, candy and all other foods, to brush thoroughly, as having brackets makes it tougher to reach all the surfaces and you dont want to get cavities!

soft chocolate, I wouldnt eat anything hard or gum. I did when I had braces and they broke a couple of times. Its not fun or cheap and the wire usually breaks off and pokes you in the mouth.

I would say none but my friends have braces and they eat anything they want.
So eat whatever candy you like but brush your teeth right after you do.

You can have candy as long as it isn't hard or really chewy and sticky!!! You can have hard candy and candy canes as long as you just suck on it.You can't have tootsie rolls a friend of mine broke his bracket with a toostie roll!!! Gum is okay as long as it is sugar free!!! I chew extra original (I have braces, too) it is sugar free!!! Hope I helped!!!:)

Crunchy candy and chocolate should be fine. Stay away from caramels and Now n' Laters unless you want to sprain your tongue getting it out.
