Tea Tree oil (diluted as per the instructions and not swallowed) is a good help I read. Check it and try it out. And for your dental phobia, use Mimulus a Bach Flower Essence (for specfic fears). If the fear is terrifying use Rock Rose.

keeping your mouth rinses out with warm salt water may help, but you really have to keep your gums brushed as well as you teeth and flossing will help with inflation/irritation of the gums. Getting over your phobia of going to the dentist will be a very good thing to do.

Continue to brush your teeth gently with a soft toothbrush and floss every day. Try using PLAX mouthrinse. How long since you have seen a dentist? I am a dental hygienist and highly recommed you get in to see your dentist soon before this becomes a more major problem. Good luck!
