First of all, I think it's great that you are sticking by her. I have really bad depression, and my man's stuck by me. Just reasure her that you love her no matter what. When people are depressed, they need constant reasurrance that they are loved. Is she on any medication? First she will probably need to be seeing a counselor. There's a lot of them out there.. just look in the yellow pages. And she will also probably need a psyciatrist. I see one, and they prescribe medications that can really help. You can email me if you want and I can answer your questions and such. It's blueyedblondej5@yahoo.com
Good luck!

Personally, I think the ability of family doctors to correctly diagnose depression is very poor. Studies support that -- they have been shown to be wrong a fair amount of the time when compared to a diagnosis by a psychiatrist. I would make an appointment for her to see a psychiatrist -- that doctor would be able to diagnose what the problem is. If it's depression, the psychiatrist can prescribe anti-depressants. Be warned, it takes some trial and error to find the right anti-depressant and the right dosage -- and it takes several weeks to take effect.

It is very difficult for her too, not just you. Her doctor can prescribe medicine for her to stop the symptoms (but remember, some of the drugs out there aren't instant they do take awhile to act) and it sounds like she needs to go to a psychologist to better handle what she needs help dealing with. With someone that's as caring and supportive as you seemingly are she will get better in no time at all.

I would suggest a professional diagnosis from a trained shrink, or at least someone experienced in anxiety depressive disorders.

A psychologist or psychiatrist would be a good start. I wish I knew anyone to recommend but you need to get her some help.

Maybe shes doing drugs. If it is mental health then you can bring her to a community mental health hosp. but they're going to give her medication. Good luck, good guy that you stick with her...
