CNN.com has a video on this today. It also talks about the new fees airlines are going to be charging for luggage. But you should also ask your airline. As far as on board luggage you can take almost anything you can put in a quart sized baggie. When I travel I usually go to Walmart and buy sample sizes so there is no question what fits in. Be sure o look in your purse carefully. I got caught in security because I had a spray bottle of nitro (for chest pain) in my purse and since I always carry it I didn't think of puttng it in the baggie. Almost missed my plane.

I would suggest that you go to the TSA website http://www.tsa.gov/ they have the complete list of everything that is allowed and not in both your checked and carry on luggage.
