The stupidity of the anti's never cease to amaze me.
For one second, lets assume hunters are the evil scum of the earth and would be willing to skin something alive. This would still NEVER happen. Why? When something is alive and is cut/wounded, it bleeds all over the place. A seal's pelt is quite valuable. If a hunter skinned a seal alive, besides having a tough time trying to remove the skin of a moving animal, it will get an excessive amount of blood on the pelt, thus probably bringing down the value.
I love how the anti's are always trying to save the cute, fuzzy animals and really seem to care less about the pigs, cows, chicken, and fish of the world. Do any of the anti's have any clue how a domesticated animal is killed? These are the animals that get skinned alive because the slaughter houses have quotas that need to be met. I suggest reading a book called "The Meat You Eat". While it is not life changing, it does help shed light on how corporate farms raise the food that is bought in the supermarket.
In comparison, a seal getting killed with a club isn't all that bad.
Go have your morning meal of eggs and bacon and throw on your leather shoes as you leave. Stop for a second and think about where those items came from and what that animal must have felt living on a farm that only cares about profit, not about the animals health or comfort.
I just don't get the anti's train of thought. A furry seal is a cause, a cow is a baseball glove.

The number of people who actually participate in the hunt are very few. It's a small group in the far North who go out and club seals. It's nowhere near the scale that many other animals are killed on for the benefit of humans. The Inuit people (those who do the seal hunt) have always traditionally believed in wasting nothing. If they kill a seal, they use every part of the body they can. The fur for warmth, and meat for nourishment. They sell their surplus to make some money. Europe doesn't seem to understand that the only thing they're hurting is their own economy. The Inuit will continue to hunt seal whether anyone's buying it or not, and nobody can stop hem because they have special status as First Nations peoples.

I like how you say that you don't like it because baby seals are cute.
However, you don't care how the cattle and pigs are getting killed in the slaughterhouses. Seriously, who would skin alive an animal in front of their mothers short of the 1 in 1,000 sadists?
By the way, get your facts right, it's not the largest slaughter of animals in the world. The meat industry has far more slaughtered animals than the CSH.
You people need to get your facts straight before you even put a question like this.

"Killing animals while they are still alive and able to feel pain is wrong! You should not be allow to kill animals until they are dead and thereby, unable to feel pain!"
That's the stupidest thing I've heard on here yet. I'll never forget that, "You should not be allow to kill animals until they are dead." HAHAHAHA!! I can promise you they will be dead after I kill them. The only thing I have against sealing is that if you shoot them it brings down the value of the pelts. I'd like to hunt a seal, I think it'd be fun. Then I could get it mounted and it would look cool in the store.

Killing animals while they are still alive and able to feel pain is wrong! You should not be allow to kill animals until they are dead and thereby, unable to feel pain! Freaking ignorant clueless anti-hunting hippy! If you had a clue about how animals live and die in nature your head would probably explode from the realization of how naive you are in order of life.
Thanks to do-gooders such as yourself, the seal population has exploded and has had devestating effects on the salmon population, just to name one. This is not to say that over fishing in the passed hasn't also been severely detrimental, but seals have played a huge part in the decline.
You have your knee-jerk reaction to "save" and "protect" whatever is the latest fad for you and your fellow slime-ball activist feel like. Oddly enough, your type only seems to care about the cute animals, even if they are at NO RISK of becoming a threatend species. You only care about seals because they are cute. Why don't you take action against all the poor innocent little mice and rats that are killed everyday! Take action against me for setting that trap under my sink that snapped the neck of that mouse.
Get a clue. Or better yet...dress up like a seal so maybe one of the seal hunters will whack you over the head!

How could you kill a seal if its not still alive ? I think a .22 is a better way to kill them, but I have nothing at all against harvesting animals for meat,or their fur,or just for population control. The bible says animals were created by God for us to eat.(1tim 4:4)and I think he's a little smarter than we are.

They should not be allowed to harvest the excess seals. The seals should be allowed to starve to death because of over population, and or be eaten by Killer Whales and Polar Bears..

Just be frank, you eat meat and wear leather. The difference here is not pain as these guys are pretty good at what they do. No your problem is that they are cute.
Veal disgusts me. So I don't eat it. I also don't force my sensibilities on the world even if I could.
