That is a word that means so much to so many people. If my buddy is dying it means, have a good journey. If it's some one that I see all the time it means I'll see you later. If it's someone that I see once in a while it means till we meet again. Sometimes goodbye just means goodbye. GOODBYE!!

Well, normally I'm okay with saying goodbye to someone. I usually know that I'll see them again.
When I went to France as a Student Ambassador, it was really tough on me to leave my homestay family because I knew that most likely I'd never see them again. I cried for about thirty minutes. Most other people in the group didn't have such a great family, but mine was wonderful.

If you say goodbye to your boyfriend or girlfriend and then kiss, it means see you later, but if you say goodbye to ur boyfriend or girlfriend and turn away with no kiss, it could be like a break up thing.

It means we are parting ways, either forever or temporarily. It depends on the situation if it's a "goodbye, get out of my life" or a "goodbye, hope to see you again soon".

The word Goodbye comes from the phrase 'God be with you', which people used to say in times of old. The same is true for Adios and Adieu which are spanish and french for 'with God' short for 'Go with God'.
