In stripping down the SW 910, I cannot remove the slide stop. Pushing the pin from the other side will not push the stop out at all. I cannot pull the pin out from the left side either.

Make sure that the slide is in the right position when you try to push out the slide stop.

the way i get them started is to hold the slide in place (the notch lined up with the front of the slide stop you can refer to your owners manual to see a picture of the proper position) and then use the corner of a table or counter to push on the pin side of the slide stop to get it started. Or if you can hold the slide in position with one hand use the other one to push on the pin with a blunt object. That will get the pin out enough you can get a hold of it and finish pulling it out.

The slide-stop on a SW auto is just like the slide-stop on a CZ-75. It has a knurled head on the end of the pin to keep it from ever slipping out of place. A solid design that has benefits in the long run. Take the end of a plastic pen, plastic punch, or some other small tool that won't mar the metal, and tap the pin until it starts to drive the slide-stop out the other way. I used to tap my CZ slide-stop pin with the plastic heel of my detachable magazine. It should work.
