Oil depends on mileage, how often you drive the car, your climate and how often you intend to change the oil. Synthetics will give you the widest latitude of viscosity, the longest service life and the most lubrication possible, but it costs 2 or 3 times as much. Syntec is one possible choice.
As for tire pressure, I have always filled the tires to the maximum pressure as listed on the sidewall. Harder tires give you better fuel economy, at the cost of a slightly rougher ride. To me, it's worth it.
You should also:
Change your air filter if it doesn't let the sun shine through when you hold it up.
Check the transmission fluid level
Check the power steering fluid level
Check the brake fluid level
Check the coolant level and replace if color is rusty
Inspect/clean battery terminals
Inspect belts for wear or cracking, replace as necessary
Check any other fluid reservoirs that you might have that I've forgotten to mention (washer fluid, for example)

It depends on the outside temperature. I usually use 50w oil, but you might want to ask a local autoparts store what they recommend for your climate.
The tire pressure should be written on the tire since it varies depending on what kind of tires you have - usually around 32 psi for a standard 14" tire.
I would definitely check your air filter (And the breather filter). Check your spark plugs (pull one out and inspect it for corrosion or signs of ignition problems). Clean your battery terminals on occasion. Always check brake pads (on front) and brake fluid level in the master cylinder. Check coolant, and replace if nasty (after thoroughly flushing system) plus keep the overflow at the correct level. Check transmission fluid level.

Agree with everything the person said above and add change the oil about every 3-4,000 miles. This will keep you engine clean and running good. Also have the radiator flushed out about every 1-2 years.

Ford recommend 5W30 oil, generally tyres want to be at about 30psi, dependant on load, you want a pollen filter, can all depend on what service you need, if you go to www.etis.ford.com and click on the fordservice tab and you can pull off the servce schedule for you specific car
