This travel article will tell you where to go, what to do, and where to spend in the States. I know its from a sub-site of Wikipedia but it's definitely helpful.

Living here my whole life and having visited other countries I would say yes! It is always a learning experience to visit another country and see what their culture is like. It is only through understanding one another that peace can be made on this planet. Any experience of worldy education is only going to beneficial to your growth as a human being. The United States is a big place, but California (which is where I am) would be a wonderful place to visit; Hollywood film studios, beaches, Yosemite and Sequoia national parks, Tahoe skiing and mountains, Death Valley desert, San Diego animal parks, San Francisco bridges and California cuisine are amazing. In New York or Chicago all you see is buildings and city. Florida might be nice to visit as well; last time I was there it was flush with international tourists.

Is it worth it to you? Don't know where you are from. With PC you can check out just about everything over here. Depends on your interests, time and how much you want to invest in trip. Like every place else stay out of hot spots and have itinerary. Sure, you can have a good time in USA. It's kind of hard for a person like me to answer this though. You would be on vacation having a good time and I just live here. Good luck to you and hope you make good decision. Investigate.

Depends on where you're coming from & how much time you have to spend.
Concentrate on the things you might want to see or do & visit websites that specialize in US tours.
You can wear yourself out trying to do too much.
Travel inside US is relatively easy.
One thing not to forget is that the place is huge & you cannot possibly get the overall picture in one visit.
Have worked w/ many foreign nationals who have seen more of the US than I have.
Seasoned travellers, their favorites were NYcity & Grand Canyon Bring lots of money & good walking boots
Enjoy your visit

it depends what you want to see. You could visit the Everglades in Florida, the Grand Canyon, huge waves in California, or the city life in New York, NY. I would go to the Grand Canyon, my grandparents are going to take my sister and I there in the summer. It's a place everybody should see. You should also see Yellowstone Park.

Yes, why not? It's a great place to be! Make sure that you stay there for about a month. Minimum. You should also bring enough money, I would take $2000.
