Yes, you can overcome panic attacks and be confident, calm, and relaxed.
What you need to do is get to the root cause of the problem. I'd suggest a diet overhaul, without ANY sugars, and a good mix of complex carbs, fat, and proteins to balance your neurotransmitters.
Then, if you're a woman, I'd say see an endocrinologist and have your hormones checked. Lack of progesterone + too much estrogen and cortisol can cause heart palpitations, panicky feelings, adrenaline surges, etc.
Bad diet and hormone imbalances can have a devastating effect on your mind, body, moods, thinking, etc. Don't take drugs-- drugs only cause long-term side effects and mask the symptoms. If you have a physical problem, the drugs won't heal the problem, it will only cover over it. If you ever decide to stop the drugs, you'll be addicted, have months of withdrawals, and your body will be even more unhealthy than when you started.

Try medication.
I know what you are thinking, you can do without them. You can try meditation, yoga, chocolate.
But I have seen firsthand how meds can do exactly what you need them to do, and change your entire life.
I see these angry parents doing horrible things to their kids, because they can't control their anger. They don't believe or just dont know that there are great meds out there. Meds that don't make you dizzy or slow or sleepy or crazy, they just take the edge off and make your life enjoyable.
They have great meds for panic attacks. Talk to your doctor. Don't wait another day. Imagine, you take a pill and you are calm all day. Not sleepy, not dizzy, and no panic attacks. Imagine a normal life, just on an even keel all the time. You can have that.

Yeah, of course! ~ I suppose you've stage fright (you know, when you're speaking in public) or something?
Well, of course you can be a confident person. I couldn't list of the good ways ( helplessly to state them all ) to gain your self-confidence but I've a good book to recommend: The Art of Talking to Anyone by Rosalie Maggio.
Plus, if you talk to people, don't ever fear of rejection and being ignored ~ there are other billions human being on the earth that will possibly happy to talk and know you better!
Apart from that, I've a website that I also highly recommend to you ~ to serve your needs and wants -- it may be dedicated more on the workers and companies, but why not just give it a try?
Here it is: http://www.mindtools.com/page8.html
Good Luck! ;)

One of the hallmarks of panic attacks is that you feel like you're going to die, but you don't. The best method of management seems to be a combination of medications and cognitive therapy, and the dread of the next attack is one of the symptoms that are treated with a high degree of success.
