I am using Adobe premiere pro 7.0 for editing video from my camcorder, but in the latest harddrive camcorders there is no IEEE but only USB 2.0, Would the premiere pro accept a USB connection for downloading video/audio onto the computer?

Windows will see devices in exactly the same way if connected via USB or IEEE ports (assuming that they are detected). If they appear as a disk, software that can recognise the particular file type will be able to read the data.
