I am using Adobe premiere pro 7.0 for editing video from my camcorder, but in the latest harddrive camcorders there is no IEEE but only USB 2.0, Would the premiere pro accept a USB connection for downloading video/audio onto the computer?

Once you plug it into your computer, go to my computer and you should be able to drag the files out, but you may want to convert them into .avi's first to avoid killing yourself later. You can try googling these, or put the files (if possible) into movie maker or premiere pro then render as avi files. Then import those into your premiere pro project and start editing. BTW, seeing that you have premiere pro and after effects, you DO have a DV or HDV camera, instead of just a HDD cam, don't you? :-) Just making sure. Hope this helps!

For the hard disk drive camcorders, you do not need to download the videos using a video editing program. When you connect it to a computer using the USB port - the camcorder is recognized as a external drive. You would then simply copy the video files from the camcorder to the computer.

I believe the HD recorders use mpeg - not good for editing!
