The evidence is inconclusive at best. Occam's razor says nothing at all, as far as 'self' is concerned.
Your body gets disposed of, one way or another.

No mythological sources, then without mythological sources absolutely nothing happens after death. Your flesh blood and bones return to the soil just like any other animal and you cease to exist.

1015 "The flesh is the hinge of salvation" (Tertullian, De res. 8, 2:PL 2, 852). We believe in God who is creator of the flesh; we believe in the Word made flesh in order to redeem the flesh; we believe in the resurrection of the flesh, the fulfillment of both the creation and the redemption of the flesh.
1016 By death the soul is separated from the body, but in the resurrection God will give incorruptible life to our body, transformed by reunion with our soul. Just as Christ is risen and lives for ever, so all of us will rise at the last day.
1017 "We believe in the true resurrection of this flesh that we now possess" (Council of Lyons II: DS 854). We sow a corruptible body in the tomb, but he raises up an incorruptible body, a "spiritual body" (cf. 1 Cor 15:42-44).
1018 As a consequence of original sin, man must suffer "bodily death, from which man would have been immune had he not sinned" (GS § 18).
1019 Jesus, the Son of God, freely suffered death for us in complete and free submission to the will of God, his Father. By his death he has conquered death, and so opened the possibility of salvation to all men.

When death happens,ie., when the body perishes the eternal indestructible soul within the body goes to another body according to one's karma. Just as one changes new clothes when old cloth is torn, similarly we accept another body(new cloth) when the old body is torn(dies). Just as when a old house we are dwelling collapses, we enter a new house, similarly we give up our old body(where soul lives) and enter new body(house).
Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings; nor in the future shall any of us cease to be.
Bhagavad-gita-2.12
As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A sober person is not bewildered by such a change.Bhagavad-gita-2.13
Those who are seers of the truth have concluded that of the nonexistent [the material body] there is no endurance and of the eternal [the soul] there is no change. This they have concluded by studying the nature of both. Bhagavad-gita-2.16
An excerpt from the purport by Srila Prabhupada.
There is no endurance of the changing body. That the body is changing every moment by the actions and reactions of the different cells is admitted by modern medical science; and thus growth and old age are taking place in the body. But the spirit soul exists permanently, remaining the same despite all changes of the body and the mind. That is the difference between matter and spirit. By nature, the body is ever changing, and the soul is eternal. This conclusion is established by all classes of seers of the truth, both impersonalist and personalist. In the Vishnu Purana (2.12.38) it is stated that Vishnu and His abodes all have self-illuminated spiritual existence (jyotimsii vishnur bhuvanani vishnuh). The words existent and nonexistent refer only to spirit and matter. That is the version of all seers of truth.
That which pervades the entire body you should know to be indestructible. No one is able to destroy that imperishable soul.

Psalm 1: 3 "Do not put your trust in nobles or the son of earthling man to whom no salvation belongs, his spirit goes out, he goes back to the ground, in that day his thoughts do PERISH" When a person dies, it's like blowing out a candle, where does the flame go? No where, it simply does not exist. However, the resurrection is the real hope for mankind. John 5:28,29 "Do not marvel at this for the hour is coming in which ALL those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice, and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment." Those who practice vile things will be give another chance to do Gods will, because he's not going to resurrect them to destroy them, but to give them another chance to live according to his will.

Why thinking about happenings after death, nobody has seen heaven or hell, if u want to live, live for present. If u feel that u are a soul, then see after ur death, what happens to u!

Psalm 146:4 - "His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish."
Some are taught in church that Hell is a place of suffering where evil souls go and Heaven is where good people go.
This is not a bible teaching:
Did Abraham die and went to a ever-burning hell? Surely idol worshippers would not be in heaven. Yet, Abraham was with his forefathers, Scripture says.
Joshua 24:2 - "Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor; and they served other deities," Genesis 15:15. "And you shall go to your fathers".
King David was a righteous king he must of gone to heaven? NO?
Acts 2:34 - For David did not ascend into the heavens.
When Lazarus died Jesus spoke to Martha that he was in Heaven? NO?
John 11:11 - Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
Besides Jesus there must of been some one righteous enough to go to heaven? NO?
John 3:13 - No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.
When Jesus kingdom arrives he promised the good will go to heaven. NO?
Matthew 5:5 - Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Surely people who are holy as saints and priests will rule with Jesus in heaven? NO?
Revelation 5:10 - You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth."
finally, the second death (from Rev 21:8) is a location for bad people to suffer in a fiery place. NO?
Rev 20:14 - And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
-The Second death is a judgment not a location. Jesus is promising that those who are not wicked will be resurrected and never die again. (Rev 20:15)
Verdict: Death is Hell. It's the grave where we are like in a sleep like state but have no conscience thought. Waiting to be brought back to life if we have followed Jesus teachings.

Some say you go to heaven or hell after judgement. There are many different outcomes, but the truth is...NO ONE KNOWS. Not for sure. It's all speculation and theology of some kind.

The body is usually taken to a funeral parlor and is prepared for burial. It is then taken to a cemetery and buried.
Some prefer cremation instead of burial. In either case, in time the remains will return to nature.

i think there is no death...everything is living as long as they ve aloms and molecules....
even a stone is a living thing...
in an atom there are electrons and nucleus..
.as long as electrons r revolving arround nucleus, and protons and nucleons r present in the atom to balance the negative energy of electrons....life is there.....
everything comes from the soul of the universe and goes back to the soul of the universe....nothind is added nothing is subtracted.....hence all energy is conserved....
