i installed programs awhile ago, and then uninstalled them when no longer needed.

but there stills seems to be traces of software in the had drive like folders of software, of which are already uninstalled, icons, etc.

what best free software can i use to clean of unwanted folders, icons etc.

where this damage the hard drive, or the loss of data?

I've got same problem. Little bits and pieces left after uninstall. More of a nuisance than anything I think. I would like to second the question. Thank you.
