Because they ARE Cupid by a Christian name. Christians do things like that.

It is a pretty strong misconseption that has a lot to do with Peter Paul Reubens paintings.

The seraphim and cheribums looked nothing like 'cupid.' In many cases they were fierce warriors with six wings or in some cases very astounding looking creatures.

"Cherubim" IS A PLURAL WORD!!! adding an "s" to it makes you look ignorant.
