It is unfortunate that you don't try and find a home where he can stay with you.

That is one of the number reasons why people give up their pets. Pets are a lifetime commitment. You are his family and you want to leave him behind because you don't want him anymore.

There are many Chihuahua rescues out there that are overwhelmed and can't save them all. Do you think that another dog should die so your dog can find a home. Is that fair?

So what is the real reason you will not keep him? The humane society is always full and will accept all pets. They just euthanize to make room for more pets.

There are many places that let you have pets. You could find one if you wanted to. You just don't want him anymore. That is unfortunate for him. Poor little guy!! Good Luck to him, I hope he finds somebody who realizes that pets are a forever commitment.

I believe he falls under this category:

Too many companion animals competing for too few good homes is the most obvious consequence of uncontrolled breeding. Living creatures have become throwaway items to be cuddled when cute and abandoned when inconvenient.

What makes your dog so special over these animals in this video: http://www.mypetnanny.info/pd/index.htm Click on the golden retriever.

Rethink your thoughts and find a way to keep him. Sorry, to be harsh on you, but it is the truth!!

why the hell would you adopt an animal and the second you move you don't even try to find a place where you can keep him..its not like hes some piece of clothing that when it doesn't fit any more you can just throw out..thats horrible..when you adopt you should know that this is a 10-15 yr commitment..and just so you know, most likely no one will ever adopt to you again because of this..if you can't take care of this dog just cuz your moving then why would someone give you another dog in the future..just think about that..

You mean Chihuahua?
You should ask your local Humane Society if they know of any foundations that may be able to help you. You could also put an ad in the pet section of your local newspaper classifieds.

Go to petfinder.com and find a rescue organization. That's the best place, and they will find him a home with a good owner that understands his breed, and he'll live happily ever after. I'm glad the humane society is full. They would end up maybe putting him to sleep.

I don't know where in NE Ohio you are, but there must be more than one shelter. Check around with neighboring towns. Also do a google search for "chihuahua rescue." You may be able to place him with a rescue group.

Call the ASPCA/Humane Society and ask if they can refer you to a Chichuachua Rescue Group in your city.

Also, ask them to recommend private rescue/adoption organizations.

you are abandoning him?? you cannot take him?? go to chihuahua rescue on the internet.. or go to AKC.ORG and get ahold of chihuahua club of america and they will put you in touch with the chihuahua rescue in your area. don't send him to the humane society.. how cruel.... please remind yourself that a dog is a lifetime commitment,,, they are not disposable..
