They say when you stop looking you will. However when I'm not looking I always get approached by people that there is just no chemistry or interest on my end. What is going on? I have even lowered my standards some. My life is pretty full, everything is great except for the whole love life thing. I'm fine with being single, its just sometimes I wish I had someone to spend my life with.

I used to HATE IT when people used to tell me that when I wasn't looking I would find the right guy! But you know what? its sooo true. I was dating A LOT of guys, and I was getting frustrated, because they were all losers. Finally when I decided that I just needed some me time, and I was going to stop doing the dating scene for awhile, thats when I met my current boyfriend (weve been together for 3.5 years). I honestly have no idea why it always happens that way, but maybe take some time for you. Decide what it is you are really looking for, maybe join some groups with activities that you enjoy doing (hiking, or cooking or something) and you might be able to find someone that shares your interests, as well as work on some quality you time.

Sometimes being single is not such a bad thing. The best thing that has helped me cope SO making new friends. I don't mean long lasting Friends just a friend I can spend shooting hoops or hanging out to give me a sense of security with their company. If finding a partner for the rest of your life is worrying you .relax. take a deep breath and remember that there are other guys/girls feeling the same as you and who knows maybe one of those will meet you some day.

gosh so you get approached by people, and there is no chemistry, what do you know, no one is perfect for you, there is no one that is destined for you, just learn to adapt to your situation and if your that lonely then give it a shot... and I understand where your coming from, lowering standards and all, but its not the answer, the answer is basically deal with it, and try and have fun, if your starved for affection and need someone for longterm purposes then take on a person that is genuine

First of all, you shouldn't lower your standards for anyone. No, you will never find someone that's perfect. What you need to do is find someone that is perfect for YOU. As for if you'll ever find someone or not...the law of averages suggests you will. Remember, half the fun is in looking...and you've got to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince. (Or princess....whatever.)

That stuff about finding someone when you stop looking is bull. How likely is it that you will find someone sitting home watching HBO versus being out in a social situation. If you want to find the right person, you need to put effort in to it. Talk to your friends, join a club, use match.com (it worked for me!).

Stop window shopping and start communicating. Looks are only skin deep. If you fall in love based only on looks you'll be back in the same situation very soon.

i think lowering ur standards is a no no okay. now i think that maybe u have already setup the characteristics for who u want to be ur mr right and that makes u closed to any new ideas so try loosening up a bit
