92 ford taurus speed ometor quit working?

how do you replace the cable I have the book on repairs but it doesnt talk about repairs i need help

Actually you have to reach from under the dash and push together the outer edges of the clip to remove off of speedometer.

Also you may want to have it checked by a professional.. them things are famous for breaking the teeth of the VSS in the transmission causing no speedometer among other things

It's just a cable running from the back of your speedometer down to your transmission. It's real easy to change. Just unscrew the old one and screw the new one on.
